Annual Commencement Dinner

Brian Graden, MBA '89, will be the keynote speaker at the Caucus' 2008 Annual Commencement Dinner on June 5th at Lowell House. President of Entertainment, MTV Networks Music Group, and also President of Logo, MTV's LGBT network, Brian leads and provides programming oversight in music, news, specials, production, and series development. Because of his unique position in these organizations, he has particular insight into the relationship between the LGBT community and the media, which will be the topic of his dinner speech.
In addition, the Caucus will present its Founding Father Award to Martin Duberman, Ph.D. '57, award-winning historian and playwright, civil rights activist, and founding director of the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies at the City University of New York (CUNY), the first LGBT Studies program in the country. Prof. Duberman is the author and editor of more than twenty books and plays, including, most recently, "The Worlds Of Lincoln Kirstein" (Knopf).
Lowell House Co-Masters, Prof. Diana Eck and Dr. Dorothy Austin, will host the event.
4:30 pm – Symposium featuring faculty and students from the Committee on Degrees in Studies of Women, Gender & Sexuality (WGS), the new LGBT studies program at Harvard College; moderated by Robin Bernstein, Asst. Professor of WGS and of History & Literature.
5:00 pm - Cocktail Hour - Free Open Bar - Courtesy of Coors Brewing Company (no reservations needed)
7:00 pm - Dinner (advance reservations and payment required).

- FREE for the first 25 full-time students who reserve spaces - all others $30
- $30 for low-income or family of 2008 graduates
- Additional donations are accepted to help with student dinners

RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENT
Since the number of meals is guaranteed to the caterer in advance, advance payment for dinner reservations are required. However, the cocktail hour, program and speaker do not require reservations.
